2025: Tile Trends Worth Knowing

Designs evolve for a reason. The way we live changes — and so do the materials, colours and textures we’re drawn to. Whether it’s a shift toward calm, natural spaces or a bold embrace of colour and contrast, trends reflect how we want our homes and workspaces to feel. The team at Euxton Tiles Projects & Specification have been keeping a close eye on the latest directions in tile design – from trade shows to real-life projects – and here’s our take:

1: Earthy tones inspired by nature

There’s a growing desire to reconnect with nature indoors and earthy tones are leading the way. Think gentle greens like sage and olive, soft neutrals like warm taupe and sandy beige – colours that don’t shout but whisper calm and balance. These tones are perfect for rooms designed to nurture relaxation and well-being – bathrooms, living rooms, anywhere you want to escape the noise of the day. When paired with natural materials like weathered wood or soft textiles, they create rooms that feel both grounded and inviting, reflecting the quiet warmth of nature itself.

2: Don’t be afraid of the dark

While soft neutrals and calming tones have their place, there’s something undeniably powerful about leaning into rich, saturated colour. Deep blues, inky navy and emerald greens are set to dominate interiors this year — and we’re here for it. These bold tones bring instant atmosphere to a space. In bathrooms, they create a sense of decadence — think spa-like calm but with a touch of drama. In kitchens, they make a striking backdrop when set against lighter cabinetry, pale stone worktops or warm metallics. It’s all about balance — and confidence.

Yuri

There’s a long-standing myth that dark colours shrink a space, but we’d argue the opposite. In smaller rooms like cloakrooms or ensuites, deep tones can create an enveloping, cocoon-like feel that’s both luxurious and unforgettable. The key? Embrace it. Use rich tiles wall-to-wall or floor-to-ceiling and pair with the right lighting to let the colour shine.

Vitral

Bold doesn’t mean brash. With the right finish, dark tiles feel refined, sophisticated – even calming. Glossy surfaces bounce light around a room; matt finishes add depth and texture. Either way, they’re a sure way to make a statement without saying a word.

3: Organic Luxury: The Beauty of Wood

You really can’t go wrong with a classic wood finish. Warm, welcoming and luxurious, it has a way of making any room feel grounded and timeless. Whether it’s a Scandi-style retreat or a more traditional setting, wood brings instant character – and a sense of calm that’s hard to beat. But as beautiful as real wood is, it’s not always the most practical choice. It doesn’t love moisture and in high-traffic kitchens or steamy bathrooms, it can warp, shrink or wear unevenly over time. That’s where wood-effect porcelain steps in.

Ancona

With porcelain, you can capture everything that makes wood special – the grain, the tone, the organic warmth – but with the durability and low maintenance of tile. No sealing, no swelling, no stress. Just a beautiful, long-lasting finish that works effortlessly across the whole home.

Nebraska

Laid in classic planks or herringbone patterns, wood-look tiles create a sense of flow and softness underfoot, while still standing up to everyday life. They’re ideal for open-plan living, wet rooms, utility spaces – anywhere you want that warm, natural aesthetic without the practical compromises. And don’t forget, it works equally as well on the walls!

4: Mediterranean vibes & terracotta tones

There’s something about terracotta & Mediterranean tiles that radiates warmth and bring a certain charm – think sunbaked courtyards, rustic villas and long lunches under olive trees. It’s a look that’s both relaxed and timeless, and it’s making a quiet but confident return in modern interiors. The tones are warm, inviting and surprisingly versatile. They bring softness and depth to a space – perfect for adding character to kitchens, bathrooms or entrance halls. Traditional terracotta is full of personality, but it does come with its quirks. It can be porous, prone to staining and often needs sealing — not ideal for busy areas where spills are part of daily life.

That’s why we love terracotta-effect porcelain tiles. They capture all the rustic charm – the textured surface, the rich clay tones – but are far more practical. No sealing, no worrying about marks.
